What can I say? What an amazing experience! Those of you who couldn’t make it to the launch of Pangamonium last Friday night, 20 July 2012, you really did miss out on a huge night. The SA Writers’ Centre atrium was bursting at the seams, wine supplied by Cleggett Wines was plentiful and the speeches were excellent. After hearing launcher Patrick Allington and writer Zanesh Catkin talk about Pangamonium, very few people walked away without buying a copy; that’s how well they sold the book.
Publisher Anna Solding had plenty of people to thank:
Michael Sloman for applying his magic to the ebook creation process, Peter Cassidy for making sure the website shop showed all the books available, Ross Williams for every little piece of advice that keeps MidnightSun going, Adam Dutkiewicz for persisting with the internal design in the face of adversity, Polly Leddar for the amazing cover design, Zanesh Catkin for taking a punt and believing that a small, new publisher could do his book justice and finally Allan Taylor, for looking after the children, cooking, cleaning and just generally being wonderful on a daily basis. Without you, MidnightSun would not be what it is today.
Then the fun started! While Zanesh signed books and the people in the queue to get them signed admired Tricia Henderson-Schmitz’ cute dildo cookies, Sean Williams cranked up the volume and ABBA invited everybody to dance. And dance we did! Thank you so much to everyone who came – and to everyone who stayed… We are already looking forward to doing it all again at the next launch. Here are a bunch of photos from the night. Enjoy!
